Alma treats black as a building material, not a mood. The work is large, slow, and uninterested in symbols you already know.
She draws on the body first — standing, sitting, reaching — then commits the drawing in dense pigment. Edges are decided by muscle, not by a stencil bought online.
Cover-ups are accepted when the old image can be absorbed into a new structure. She will refuse a cover-up that would only hide.
